Winemaker's notes
Grapes grown on the warm free draining gravel soil of the Gimblett Gravels Wine Growing District in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. Age of vines 18 years. Mass Section Syrah Clone on Riparia Gloire rootstock. Grapes machine picked using a select head machine. Grapes in Optimal health and ripeness.
Handcrafted with attention to detail - 5 days cold soak pre ferment. Fermented in small stainless steel vats with daily, gentle manual working of the cap. Post ferment maceration to achieve balance between the fruit weight, acid lift and tannin structure. Matured for 10 months in small French oak barrels.
