Nuku Wines
Nuku is our house brand. Under this brand we bring the best hand crafted selections from various New Zealand vineyards – each showcasing the outstanding quality New Zealand winemakers have to offer.
The name Nuku comes from Māori lore – Papatūānuku is the Earth Mother, wife of Rangi-nui, and mother of all things. Nuku is the Earth, her child. This wine is our heartfelt tribute to our Earth Mother, Papatūānuku.
The Nuku 2021 Sauvignon Blanc is a premium, single-vineyard New Zealand wine, the grapes for this vintage are sourced exclusively from Linden Estate. Nestled within Esk Valley and close to New Zealand’s renowned Hawkes Bay, the second largest wine growing region in the country.
The Winemaker
Linden Estate was established in 1971 by the Van der Linden Family. The vineyard’s mission is to grow outstanding grapes that produce premium boutique Hawkes Bay wine.
Hawkes Bay is recognized for its temperate climate and plentiful sunshine, making it ideal for grape growing. Vines were first planted here in 1851 by Marist missionaries and the area has since become internationally recognised for the quality of its wines, both red and white.
As a coastal river valley vineyard, Linden Estate experiences temperature and soil type variances throughout the growing process. This unique microclimate protects the vineyard from frost and gives stunning views through the valley. Though the valley experiences intense sunlight during the day, it is cooled by ocean winds. Thus extending the growing season compared to surrounding areas. These winds can be challenging to growers, but add something truly special to the wine. We hope you enjoy Nuku as much as we do.
