Ostler Caroline’s Pinot Noir 2009
Gorgeous jazzy black summer fruit lift – cherries, plums, and spices. From a warmer season, intensely flavored with attractive fruit sweetness and impressive palate length. While retaining the complexity, elegance and finesse this label has become known for, this is a ‘big’ Pinot for the Waitaki region.
“Incredible complexity, minerality, depth and length.” – Cameron Douglas, MS
Floral – lavender/violet and savory aromatics - underpinned with jazzy dark summer fruit - cherry and plum. Intensely flavored with attractive fruit sweetness and impressive palate. Finishes with a distinctive chalky minerality – very much the Waitaki Valley’s terroir signature. While it retains the complexity, elegance and finesse this label has become known for, this is a ‘big’ pinot for the ultra-cool climate Waitaki. A wine that shows the benefit of several years bottle age and while drinking very well indeed now will reward further cellaring.
